Swedish hard rockers E.F. Band had a legendary British drummer when they were invited to be part of the cult compilation LP “Metal for Muthas”.

Legendary British drummer Dave Dufort is back on the sofa at Roppongi Rocks headquarters in Tokyo to talk to Stefan Nilsson about his time as a member of Swedish hard rockers E.F. Band in 1979-80.

E.F. Band was formed in 1978 in Gothenburg, Sweden by bassist/vocalist Pär Ericsson and guitarist Bengt Fischer. During Dave Dufort’s time in the band, they contributed the song “Fighting for Rock and Roll” to the legendary NWOBHM compilation LP “Metal for Muthas” (1980) which also featured bands such as Iron Maiden, Praying Mantis, Samson and Angel Witch. While Dave was in the band, they also recorded and released the singles “Self-Made Suicide” and “Devi’s Eye”.

After Dave left E.F. Band to join Angel Witch, new band members included Roger Marsden (Angel Witch, Deep Machine), Andy LaRocque (King Diamond), John Ridge, Dag Eliason and Tony Borg (Alien). During his career, in addition to E.F. Band, Dave has played with artists such as Mike Oldfield, Ian Hunter, Mick Ronson, Screaming Lord Sutch, Angel Witch, Tytan, Mantas and Phantasm.
