Megadeth’s Dirk Verbeuren only comes out at night for food
Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren celebrated the band’s return to Japan with a dinner with the Roppongi Rocks team on the 23rd of February.
Megadeth has a fab new album out and a rock-solid line-up that delivers modern thrash metal like it’s nobody’s business. The album tour has now reached Japan where the band hasn’t played since 2017. The tour kicks off with a gig at Toyosu PIT in Tokyo tonight. That gig will be followed by a second Tokyo gig at Nippon Budokan on Monday 27th February – an event which will be available as a live stream and feature a guest appearance by former lead guitarist Marty Friedman, the first time since he left the band 23 years ago he reunites with the band on stage. The tour finale will take place in Osaka on Tuesday 28th February.
Last night, Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren had dinner with Roppongi Rocks boss Stefan Nilsson and the team to celebrate Megadeth’s Japan visit. On Sunday 26th February, Dirk Verbeuren will make a private in-person appearance at the Roppongi Rocks showroom to mark the launch of a collectable limited edition drum key – a collaboration between Dirk and Roppongi Rocks. Dirk will meet a small group of fans to sign autographs and pose for pictures. Details of this exclusive event can be found here.
