Video: Backstage interview with Accept’s Joel Hoekstra
Just before he performed his final gig with Accept, Whitesnake guitarist Joel Hoekstra sat down backstage with Roppongi Rocks at the Skogsröjet festival in Sweden to talk about the experience of being accepted by the Accept fans.
American guitarist Joel Hoekstra is best known as a member of Whitesnake. In 2024, he was recruited to fill in as a live guitarist for German heavy metal band Accept. He performed as one of three guitarists during the band’s South American and European tours. It was a surprise move that worked well. During his career, Joel has also played with Cher, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Night Ranger, Foreigner, Revolution Saints, ICONIC, Brandon Gibbs and Joel Hoekstra’s 13. He spoke with Roppongi Rocks’ Stefan Nilsson backstage at the Skogsröjet festival in Rejmyre, Sweden on 3rd August 2024. After the interview, he performed his final show with Accept.
