Video: Backstage interview with Girlschool
British rockers Girlschool sat down backstage with Roppongi Rocks at the Skogsröjet festival in Sweden to talk about NOT retiring from touring.
British hard rock band Girlschool was formed in London, England in 1978. Led by original members Denise Dufort (drums) and Kim McAuliffe (vocals and guitar), they are still going strong with relentless touring. Their latest studio album, “WTFortyfive?”, was released in 2023. They recently brought in Olivia Airey as its new bassist.
Girlschool’s Denise Dufort, Jackie Chambers and Olivia Airey spoke with Roppongi Rocks’ Stefan Nilsson backstage at the Skogsröjet festival in Rejmyre, Sweden on 3rd August 2024. Talk of this being a final tour was dismissed. “We’re definitely not retiring!“ said Jackie Chambers and Denise Dufort added: “We’re carrying on until we drop!”
