Legendary Dutch guitarist Adrian Vandenberg talked with Roppongi Rocks’ Stefan Nilsson backstage at the excellent Skogsröjet festival in Sweden on 3rd August 2024. He discussed Vandenberg, Whitesnake, playing the catalogue, creating new music and much more.
Adrian started his musical career with the band Teaser in the late 70s. In 1981 he founded his own band and named it Vandenberg. The band released its self-titled debut album in 1982. Adrian was recruited by David Coverdale as lead guitarist for Whitesnake during the 80s and 90s. After his successful years with Whitesnake, he formed the band Vandenberg’s MoonKings and later reformed Vandenberg. Vandenberg’s most recent album, “Sin”, was released in 2023 and features Swedish vocalist Mats Levén (Swedish Erotica, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, ex-Candlemass, Treat, Yngwie Malmsteen, Therion).
