British drummer Dave Dufort is back on the Roppongi Rocks sofa. This time to talk about his younger sister Denise, drummer in the legendary NWOBHM band Girlschool.
Dave Dufort has had a long career as a professional musician. Over the years, he has played with artists such as Mike Oldfield, Ian Hunter, Mick Ronson, EF Band, Angel Witch, Tytan, Phantasm, Mantas and many more. His sister Denise Dufort is also a drummer and a founding member of the band Girlschool. The band was founded in London, England in 1978 and quickly became part of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Early tours with friends Motörhead got Girlschool attention and a record deal. 47 years later, Girlschool are still rocking the world’s stages. In this interview, Dave talks to Roppongi Rocks’ Stefan Nilsson about how Denise got started playing drums and how she ended up in Girlschool.
