When Greek thrash metal band Suicidal Angels returned to Japan after a decade, bassist Angel Lelikakis and vocalist and guitarist Nick Melissourgos sat down backstage in Shibuya, Tokyo with Roppongi Rocks’ Stefan Nilsson.
They talked about their love for touring, whether they follow the unwritten rules of thrash metal when they create new music, performing live versus recording in the studio and much more.
Nick founded Suicidal Angels in Athens, Greece. The band’s first demo, “United by Hate”, was released in 2002. In 2007, the band finally released its debut full-length album, “Eternal Domination”. Its most recent album, “Profane Prayer”, was released in 2024. For the past decade, the band has consisted of Nick, Angel, drummer Orfeas Tzortzopoulos and lead guitarist Gus Drax.
