During Mindwars’ recent Japan tour, guitarist and vocalist Mike Alvord sat down backstage in Tokyo with Roppongi Rocks’ Stefan Nilsson to talk about touring Japan, playing Holy Terror songs, lyrical themes, the importance of releasing new albums and much more. Guitarist and vocalist Mike Alvord (ex-Holy Terror) and drummer Roby Vitari (ex-Headcrasher) formed Mindwars in California in 2013. The pair originally met in 1989 when Holy Terror toured with Exodus and Nuclear Assault. Bassist Rick Zaccaro completes the powerful thrash trio. The band’s debut album “The Enemy Within” came out in 2014. In 2023, they performed in Japan for the first time and fell in love with the country. A year and a half later, they were back for more shows in Japan. They are touring in support of their fifth album, “V” (High Roller Records).
